Side-note from rural Ireland: the sheep in the vaccination frame are back on their legs and right-side-up immediately after they've had their shots.
HOWEVER if you spot a sheep lying on its back in a field, roll it over, because it has Fallen Down And Can't Get Up.
Sheep have broad backs, and once they're on that back, have great difficulty rolling off it; they may also be unsheared and top-heavy; they'll also be top-heavy if pregnant, or after rain, and the ground underfoot will be slippery for the same weather reason.
(No comments about "They shouldn't have been bred that way" please; it's how sheep are right now, and not the point of this post.)
The misplaced weight of their upside-down insides will eventually kill them, and while they're on their backs and helpless, they're fair game for crows which will take their eyes, and foxes which will open them up...
So watch this and learn How To Do A Sheep A (literal) Good Turn. :->

There is an anti-vax lady who screams at the farmer's market sometimes and it sends me into automatic sensory overload and I really wish she'd shut up. I just want to buy salad and apples.

Wait what does the “mutant” part mean? I thought he was being transphobia, but is it something else??
(In response to this weird Trump tweet "truth" ranting about communists and mutants)
Oh I am pretty convinced that Trump meant trans people when he declared "mutants" as part of the cabal of enemies plotting against him. In a previous speech a few months ago, he had referred to trans children taking hormone blockers as being "mutated."
However, this could easily refer to just about anything, because Trump is an erratic demagogue prone to absolutely bizarre nonsense statements. For instance, back during the height of the Covid anti-vaccine hysteria, anti-vaxxers spread a batshit conspiracy that the mRNA vaccine altered human DNA, making them genetically modified "mutants."
I'm more inclined to believe Trump meant trans people because A). Anti-Trans rhetoric is much more "in vogue" in far-right reactionary politics right now and B). Trump has a notoriously poor attention span, so his referencing a weird conspiracy theory about vaccines from over 2 years ago sounds like a stretch.
Or maybe he just used an 'M' word because it fix nicely with "Misfits" and "Marxists" and he's just a fucking weirdo. We have no idea!

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a severe, highly contagious viral disease that affects cloven-hoofed animals such as cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and deer. The disease is caused by the FMD virus, which comes in seven different serotypes, making it a complex challenge for control and eradication. Early detection and prompt treatment are crucial in managing FMD outbreaks. Treatment for foot and mouth disease in animals typically involves supportive care to alleviate symptoms, such as providing soft feed, ensuring adequate hydration, and administering pain relief. Additionally, controlling the spread through quarantine measures, vaccination, and culling of infected and at-risk animals is essential in managing the disease effectively.
Symptoms of Foot and Mouth Disease
Would you like to add more details about the symptoms or treatment for Foot and Mouth Disease in animals?

Blisters on the tongue, lips, and between the hooves

My vet: So is Ollie going to be an indoor or outdoor cat?
Me: Indoor, but I will be taking him outside on leashed walks. No free-roaming, only supervised walks.
Vet: Okay, so we'll be giving him a preventative treatment for fleas and ticks, but he likely won't need a rabies vac-
Me: I would like him to have the rabies vaccine
Vet: Fantastic. And we also offer vaccinations for-
Me: Yes. We'll take all the vaccines that you have.
Vet: Well if he's not free-roaming, he'll likely never come in contact with-
Me: All the vaccines that you have
Vet: I mean we can do that but it'll be a six month plan, and it'll be a hassle for you to bring him in and pay for that many treatments, especially with how unlikely some of these diseases are
Me: My cousin was eaten by alligators, my uncle was almost taken out by a beaver, everyone in my family has been divorced once and married twice minimum over the past four generations, every family line I have has been kicked out of their country of origin, and my immediate family has experienced three divorces, four marriages, seven parents, three international moves, two missing persons incidents, two house fires, a tornado, two car collisions, one of which involved a semi truck that leveled the car, two sewage drain backfloods in two different houses, a wolf attack, two con artists, a pyramid scheme, two autoimmune diseases, three congenital deformities, one incident of bacterial meningitis, three medical quarantines, sepsis, and the sudden deaths and disappearances of eight dogs, thirteen cats, three guinea pigs, four consecutive sheep named Dorothy, thirty-two rabbits, a rooster, two ducks, four hamsters, nine fish, four cockateels, a parrot, a llama, and a bear
Me: We will take all the vaccines that you have

The Innate Immunity Defense against Gastrointestinal Nematodes: Vaccine Development
The nematode parasite infects both humans and animals, causing severe infections. Their unusual surface structures, in particular, pose significant challenges to the immune system. Vaccine-induced immunity, mediated by the innate immune system, could be crucial in the development of an adaptive effector response. The purpose of this paper was to provide an overview of recent research on the host’s innate immune system, barriers, and cells that respond to parasitic nematodes. This study investigated the nematode-associated molecular patterns that may recognize by the host. Given that innate defense is more than just a static barrier against pathogen infections. It can actively contribute as a director of the adaptive immune response, which is ultimately responsible for the rejection of invasions. Some nematode parasites can actively move through tissues, and they pose a challenge to the innate immune system. Furthermore, their cuticular surface, which varies with each molting, cannot be phagocytosed. The nematode’s thin, carbohydrate-rich surface layer, as well as the chemicals produced by this layer, cause the first contact with the host’s innate immune system. It can be concluded that all components of the innate immune response can be activated and play an important role in the adaptive immune effector response.
